Later this summer, Liberty National Golf Club will make its way into the spotlight as the host of one of the PGA Tour events, The Northern Trust. This star-studded golf tournament will take place August 7-11 2019 and is the first event of the FedExCup Playoffs. Featuring the PGA Tour’s top players, this tournament will be a fantastic opportunity for spectators to watch as golf’s greatest players fight to earn better standings in the race for the FedExCup. This is the third time in the tournament’s history that it has been played at the prestigious Liberty National Golf Club. This notable championship course boasts spectacular views of the Statue of Liberty and lower Manhattan and its location is in close proximity to many other exciting attractions. Visitors to the tournament will have the opportunity to experience world-class golf as well as other sight-seeing opportunities. One such attraction is Ellis Island.  Ellis Island is located just across the New York Harbor and is part of the Statue of Liberty National Monument. Visitors can tour the former immigration inspection station on Ellis Island and take a ferry tour to the Statue of Liberty. Liberty National Golf Course is also located just across the Hudson River from the 9/11 Memorial and Museum where visitors can gaze at a collection of artifacts, stories, photos, and videos of this historic event. Those traveling with children can also take a trip to the Liberty Science Museum located just minutes away from Liberty National Golf Club. Here, families can explore interactive, hands-on exhibitions as they explore the world of science. The museum features live animals, aquariums, a 3D theater, a 35-foot climbing gym, an 80-foot crawl through maze, a dinosaur dig and more! After an exciting day of golf and sight-seeing, visitors can indulge in a one-of-a-kind meal at Peter Luger Steakhouse, named the best steakhouse in New York City for 30 years.
